Sometimes I write things that are not plays. Those things include….
Fiction for Teens/Young Adults…
…like Tongue Kiss (which has yet to be published), a dystopia that’s kind of like Mean Girls if it had been written by Margaret Atwood.
…and Hot Chicks (which has yet to be completed), a retelling of the Greek myth of the sirens. If this title and concept sounds familiar, that might be because you saw it on the Plays page, too. I am shamelessly in favor of recycling/stealing from myself.
Stories for Adults…
I used to run a small business called Simone’s Diary, where people got to commission their own short stories, and where my staff writers and I got to marvel and delight in how strange and varied people’s imaginations are. (This was long before ChatGPT, and definitely more fun…or maybe just differently fun.)
Academic Writing…
While pursuing my MA in English*, I wrote “The Omnisexual Maiden: Femininity and Desire in The Importance of Being Earnest,” a paper that is extremely dear to my heart and that I was encouraged to submit to an academic journal for publication. I didn’t submit it, I regret it, and my way of dealing with that regret is to put that piece of writing HERE while I consider whether it’s still worth submitting after all this time. If queer theory, feminism, and decades-old scholarship are your jam, this is for you!
*I received my MA in English & Comparative Literature from Columbia University and my BA in English and Theatre Studies from Swarthmore College.

I’m currently working on Bedtime Stories for Serious Children & Curious Grownups, a series of imaginative stories read aloud and set to a soothing modular synthesizer score by Jonathan Stancato.
A Card Game…
Smarter Than I Look is a joyfully unhinged game of unexpected insights. Draw a hand of cards with words and phrases on them and use those cards to complete fill-in-the-blank sentences describing people you know. (Think MASH meets Cards Against Humanity.) The observations you make about the people in your life will be so wrong they’re right and so right it’s wrong. Smarter Than I Look is currently in a slow production process, so stay tuned.
